Blog!!!! It has been way too long.
Well, happy summer! It has seriously been a hot minute since I last posted so my apologies. Life has been good, and with a new addition it has also been a bit more hectic. The last week in April we picked up fur baby #2, Birdie! She is a Mini Aussiedoodle with the BEST colors. I knew Ellie, our 1 year old Golden Retriever wouldn't be mean to Birdie, but D and I were very curious to see if any jealousy would kick in. Day 1 and 2 Ellie was a little confused, with a, "like seriously guys, she's not leaving?", face, ALL THE TIME. Poor baby...
Ellie is still my girl. I don't really sense jealousy from Ellie, but from Birdie actually. The minute Ellie girl starts getting scratches or pets, Birdie jumps right on top of her to get to mom or dad. Maybe it's payback for Ellie's ignorance when it comes to Birdie's size. We still have to remind Ellie often that Birdie is 4x smaller than you, meaning: you cannot sit on her, you cannot drag her around like a toy, and no, you cannot push her off the bed. Minus Ellie's obliviousness to size, she's been doing very well with little sister, besides the whole sharing toys part.
We love our fur babes so much and B was such a good addition. She's still learning the ropes, but adjusting well. At this point it's kind of hard to remember life with one dog. I can't remember the house being quiet anymore. The sound of squeaky toys, barking, and playful growling is what I listen to all day, so when it's quiet, I'm concerned.
Besides dogs, I just started my third and final summer class. I will have 4 classes left this fall semester and graduation in December! D graduates at the end of this July with a degree in Ag-Business. We are both really looking forward to no more school, and, most importantly, our wedding!!! I often get asked, "How's wedding planning going?". My response: Easy. And it seriously is. I have had this day planned for what seems like forever. D just sits back and waits for me to tell him what I booked and for how much. My kind of guy.
Lastly, we have really been trying to take the boat out as much as we can this summer before things get super hectic next summer with our wedding following in October. We are boat people 100%. If the weather is good - boat. If we have no plans - boat. If we're bored - boat.
The girls have yet to go on the boat this season. Ellie pretty much grew up on the boat when we got her last June. Although they haven't been on the boat, they have been swimming at the lake. Ellie could not love the water more, and Birdie is iffy. She doesn't hate the water but her relationship with it is no where near Ellie's. She's more of a wade and watch kind of girl. Or laps around the cabin.
Very sorry again for the blog being MIA for a bit, and thank you for reading :)
